2.) Get SOCIAL!

As important as networking is to business owners- I know your're already instituting the 3 foot rule! You know- tell any and every person that comes with in 3 feet of you about your business and give them one of your free business cards....If not we'll count that one as number 1.5- Institute the 3 Foot Rule!

If you still don't know how to approach a stranger, go back to last weeks article HELLO STRANGER.

When I say Get SOCIAL!, I'm speaking of social networking. And for the purposes of this article we're going to focus on the Fab Four of social network marketing Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google.

**If possible, use the same handle(username), consistency is very important in branding.**

Twitter is for the socially advanced, eventually you'll get it but for now start major-minor. Create a Google account.

I. Google is the #1 search engine in the world. There are so many awesome tools and advantages that come along with having the infamous G-Mail account.
a.) For instance, are you a little worried about having your actual number on your business card? Well, check out Google Voice. This is a free service that allows you to select your own number, as well as, set up a voice mail and call forwarding. POW ==> Stay Connected!
b.) Google Places- Create your own Google Places page. Remember, we are in the technology age, where as before I speak to you or seek your services, I'm going to Google you!

Creating your own page is one way to assure that the people looking for you find accurate information about you or your business.

I have a lot more Google tips, but that will be an article in itself.

II. Get on Facebook, find a few old friends, create a fan page for your business and join a few interest groups. Update your Facebook at least 3 times per week.

III. Get LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site. It is mainly used for professional networking
